INEOS Secures Britain’s Last Plant Making a Key PVC Ingredient

INEOS Inovyn announced on 3 November that it had completed the purchase of the UK’s only ethylene dichloride production facility. The Runcorn plant makes a chemical used to produce PVC, the plastic found in pipes and window frames. The deal closed on 30 October and included Vynova’s remaining 50% stake in Runcorn MCP. For UK producers, the acquisition preserves a domestic source of this PVC raw material.
