BASF signed an investment agreement on 3 November for a new electronic materials plant in Nanjing, China. The facility will supply materials used to make semiconductors, giving chip manufacturers in China a local source backed by BASF’s existing technical team in the city. The company expects production to begin by the end of 2028.

Evonik announced on 3 November that it had completed a €52 million expansion at its Essen site in Germany. The new plant increases capacity for silicone additives used in polyurethane foams for mattresses, insulation and car seats, as well as in adhesives and coatings. Five new storage tanks now connect to four production units, allowing the site to hold more raw material and rely less on last-minute deliveries.
